Answering machine messages from 1985

Post by QuantumError »

Hey Jon!
I was wondering about a video that Al had posted on YouTube..it said this was from your archive..

Is there any story behind this? Did he do this very often, or was it the result of you buying an answering machine and him wanting to christen it for you or something?

No story, just Al being Al. I saved a number of interesting/amusing messages from people, not just Al. The machine was set to record as long as they stayed on the line, so a few messages were quite lengthy! It used standard cassettes, so saving and later converting to digital was easy.

So, Al being Al, he still does this, I'm assuming? ;)
