Wow, I almost hate to even say but here goes:
Weasel Stomping Day
Pancreas (sometimes)
Party at the Leper Colony
A Complicated Song (sometimes)
Close but No Cigar
Everything You Know is Wrong (sometimes)
TITDT
I Remember Larry
Jerry Springer
Pretty Fly for a Rabbi (sometimes)
Truck Drivin' Song (sometimes)
I like these songs, but sometimes I just don't feel like listening to them.

some I hear over and over (and over and over ), a few I 'set aside' to enjoy now and then - not sure why - I do like them. But I tend to skip The Plumbing Song, Phony Calls and Twister. I love Al - I love Star Wars - but I almost always skip The Saga Begins because I cannot stand the original song (bad associations with an annoying backstabbing friend from long ago who loved American Pie). Perhaps in time the 'Al Factor' will "heal" the song for me.
I'm not comfortable in my comfort zone - it's poorly named.

slightly related I think... my "skip songs" change from time to time... as do my "repeat songs" - but they have nothing to do with whether it's a parody or an original song. I do like to peruse Weird Al reviews and articles and people "out there" are not always enthusiastic about Al's original stuff. Like, heellllooooo, Hardware Store!! not to mention many others. Something tells me non-fans just hear a parody or two and just skip the rest

Sadly that seems to be the case. Some of my favorite songs by him are the non-parody stuff, but most people I know are like, "Oh, the parody guy. That Coolio parody was funny."Eithne @ Dec 25 2007, 04:42 AM wrote: slightly related I think... my "skip songs" change from time to time... as do my "repeat songs" - but they have nothing to do with whether it's a parody or an original song.
