I have been listening to My Bologna (Capitol Records Single Version) from PR. It sounds the same to me as what I already had from WAY, and TFA. Is it the same version?
I sure wish they had put the first, original Dr D. version on PR. I'm not sure I have heard that version other than the clip on Driven where Jon and Al were on the Tom Snyder show.
Oh the years of being deprived of Dr. Demento. Egads. Can you imagine if Al had grown up in my neighborhood? He would be designing buildings today! <Scottidog shudders at the thought. Not that he wouldn't do a superb job, just like he does on everything.>
A world without "Weird Al". Too sad to contemplate! No OMM, no Albuquerque. No UHF. Yikes.

If the "My Bologna" track on your box set has ANY instrument in addition to the accordion, then you have the early "error" version of the first disc....which was then corrected very early on.
So this of course leads to the question....did you buy it new at a retail store?

Here's another Al-in-the-bathroom anecdote (I mean the one across the hall from KCPR! Sheesh!)
http://www.jpeek.com/radio.html
So he DID argue against the homogenizing tendencies of the station management.

The link freezes up my IE. What's the gist of the article?
Thanks,
