There was no topic for this, so I started one. Callin in :vomit: always makes me rock out. It sounds like it is in a Nirvana song style. What do you other people think

I've always thought of it as a style parody of "Lithium" and "Come as You Are" by Nirvana. I like it. It's a cool song.

I love this song. Freedom's just seven digits away!

One of my top five favorite Weird Al songs, no doubt.

'I could spend all day in my underwear watching Ernest Goes To Camp.'

I like it.

I like most of Bad Hair Day, despite the stares I get from people who tell me it's a terrible album.

Great song. As far as style parodies go, it seems like one of the least close if you know what I mean.

I thought I'd read that "Callin' In Sick" was a U2 style-parody.

If some people say "Nirvana" and some people say "U2" maybe the best answer is "Yankovic."
"Weird Al" has a charisma that's all his own. The awkward, the misshapen, the socially inept flock to his banner.

Really? I can't hear U2 at all. I can hear similarities to the aforementioned Nirvana songs, but I agree that it sounds more like an Al original than any one other band.

ETA: Here's another thought. In the mid 90s, everyone was trying to sound like Nirvana so it really is no surprise that Al would come up with an original that also sounds a lot like Nirvana.

This is one of my favorites. It's probably the song I listen to most on BHD.
And I agree that it sounds sort of Nirvana-ish.
