I never thought about, that's cool. :P, but I'm not Nina. That would be too cool. I'm happy being me though.

My first Al song was Amish Paradise in the 90s. I watched a lot of MTV back then. I don't remember ever seeing the video until I was an adult. I don't know how I missed it. Then it was Smells Like Nirvana. I liked his work and enjoyed his MTV and VH1 specials as a child. I wanted a hamster just so I could name it Harvey. I didn't fully appreciate Mr. Yankovic's work until this past year when I saw his Yoda duet with that sweet and talented Jodi.

Does anyone remember the early 90s, when VH1 was called "video hits one" and had a boxy clear cutout logo in the corner? They were like a mixture of 80s MTV and (at the time) current adult contemporary and Top 40 hits.

I watched it all the time as a kid, and my absolute first exposure to Al was when they had a comedy/funny themed "Top 21 Countdown" which played both Eat It and Fat. It was just a few months later that OTDE came out, and I've never looked back since. :D

Either I want a New Duck, Everything you know is wrong or Attack of the Radioactive Hamsters from a Planet near Mars. I remember bringing the first tow to show and tell!

I want to say White & Nerdy, but I'm not really sure. The songs I can remember listening to the earliest are all from SOL, though it's possible I heard Amish Paradise or eBay or something before then.

What's weird is that because SOL was the album that got me into Al, I could definitely be considered young or a latecomer... but it's almost a decade old.

Still both young and a latecomer. Time just goes to fast, can't believe that was released about 10 years ago. Which means it has been over 23 years since I heard Weird Al for the first time, Christ I am much too young to feel this damn old!

I didnt discover Al until I was about 15. I used to spend time on a forum devoted to Michael Jackson and made some friends through there. One of my friends loved Al and introduced me to his music by showing me the 'Fat' video. I thought it was the funniest thing I'd ever seen! So yeh, 'Fat' was my first Al song. :good:

I was about 7 years old, and the song was Another One Rides The Bus. I know this because I remember my dad took me and my siblings to a store and he said we could choose to get any album we wanted. My sister chose The Essential "Weird Al" Yankovic because it was the only album cover that didn't scare her :D We listened to the CD so many times. I'm positive we listened to it every time we got in the car. Our dad also showed us music videos that Al did. (I specifically remember the videos for Amish Paradise, Fat, and Eat It) I was a big fan of his music at the time. I also remember that I thought that Another One Rides The Bus was the original song, and Another One Bites The Dust was the parody, and that whenever I heard Albuquerque, all I could think about was 2 guys carrying a couch up some stairs into an apartment building. Probably because of this:
OK, like one time, I was out in the parking lot
Tryin' to remove my excess earwax with a golf pencil
When I see this guy Marty tryin' to carry a big ol' sofa up the stairs all by himself
So I, I say to him, I say "Hey, you want me to help you with that?"
And Marty, he just rolls his eyes and goes
"No, I want you to cut off my arms and legs with a chainsaw"

My dad recently told me that Albuquerque is still his favorite Weird Al song, but he probably shouldn't of played the song for us when we were 7. :great:

I was 11 when Running With Scissors came out. Just didn't pick up on many of the meaning behind the adult jokes from Horoscope, Jerry Springer, Albuquerque and Rabbi. As I got older I understood more but when kids listen, a lot of the time lyrics will just go over their heads if they don't get them. It is a rather morbid album though, one of the things I love most about it.

The Saga Begins. I heard this in class when my teacher randomly put on Weird Al.
