Well now, of course I'm fully aware of the Essentials collection... considering I referenced it in my initial post. I was simply recalling something I heard a while back.

Also, I'm not completely sure about the Essentials' label connection to Al or anything, but I don't think that was something that was influenced (or even put out by? again, not positive) directly by Al's label.

I'm pretty sure someone mentioned that Bermuda said at AlFest(?) that GH3 would follow album #13 but at that point the new album was expected a lot sooner so who knows.

Well I see I'm a few weeks late with this, but when Al renegotiated his contract it called for 4 new albums and one cheesy compilation which we all assumed would be a GH3. With essential I don't think it's needed. Hell, with iTunes I don't think it's needed. I would end up buying a Love album, as I'm sure we all would but the general population would not

Could be, but it was released by another company, so perhaps not

Not really. Volcano is a subsidiary of Jive, which itself is a part of Sony Entertainment. I don't know if Essentials "counts" or not, but it certainly seems like it could. If not, Greatest Hits III will probably come out sometime down the road. I think we can pretty definitively rule out any really cheesy albums a la Food or TV.

The way I figured it after the announcement was made was they were going to give him the four albums and then pull off of that. But again, they dont have to put out a compilation, they just threw it in the contract just in case

So wait, was or was Al not forced to release Essentials?
How old was that last signature? I mean, really?
