I've noticed some people around the 'Net have questioned Al double-dipping Lady Gaga on the new album - which, if you take style parodies into consideration, really isn't that uncommon for Al. So I thought it would be interesting to see what artists he's revisited once or twice (or several times), sometimes on the same album.

HONORABLE MENTIONS
EDDY GRANT
* Fairfax Avenue (direct parody of "Electric Avenue") - unreleased
* Flatbush Avenue (direct parody of "Electric Avenue") - unreleased
Except for the street named in the chorus, these songs are completely identical; it's one parody, just suited to different locations.
THEY MIGHT BE GIANTS [twice on "Bad Hair Day"?]
* Everything You Know Is Wrong (style parody, plus lyrical reference to "We Want A Rock") - Bad Hair Day
* I Remember Larry (partially a style parody of "See The Constellation"?) - Bad Hair Day
Although "I Remember Larry" has been labeled a Hilly Michaels style parody by Al, and indeed bears some resemblance to Hilly's "Calling All Girls" in its verses, the chorus and psychedelic ending are strikingly similar to TMBG's song.

That was awesomely precise. This list clearly demonstrates Al's own musical tastes, based on what he chooses to style parody/polkafy more than once.

Great list! I didn't realize there were that many examples of this.
One that I didn't see on your list:
Aerosmith
"Living in the Fridge" parody of "Livin' on the Edge"
"Stuck in a Closet with Vanna White" style parody of Aerosmith

Thing to add: Skipper Dan is a style parody of Weezer.

Only problem I see his the Fairfax/Flatbush one. They were the same song, just different streets. By this logic you could now put Craigslist since he is changing the coffee shop every night. Otherwise I love this

Never heard of "Stuck In A Closet" being attributed to Aerosmith.
Also, does anyone actually hear Weezer in "Skipper Dan"?? I saw that on Wikipedia and I personally don't hear it.

It's not that overt, but the "hip, hip" parts recall "Island In The Sun", and the chord structure is similar to "Pork and Beans".
Great list... I've always thought of compiling something like this. Though I'm not sure if "I Want A New Dog" and "Girls Just Want To Eat Cheese" should count separately from the recorded parodies they evolved to.

Re: Al's double/triple/etc. dips of an artist (updated!)
Bermuda said it was meant to be a style parody of Weezer. If he said it, then whether or not you think it sounds like them is irrelevant I suppose.
It's a poppy alternative rock song dominated by electric guitars playing power chords, with a hefty amount of backing vocals. And that's exactly what most Weezer songs are. I'm not getting the "it doesn't sound like Weezer!!!" crowd on that one.
edit: Also, it's in E flat tuning. So is like every Weezer song.
