I like to think Al just showed up, sang his song, blew everyone away, and they put the first take into the final mix.

I like this commercial a lot. I was actually wishing they would have put Al in their Super Bowl commercial from this year "The 80's called, they want their store back".

I first saw the commercial tonight just before the trailers in front of Dumb and Dumber To (not really all that bad a movie, in my opinion; better than I expected), and it got basically a non-reaction from that audience. I personally wasn't blown away by the commercial, but I agree, the best part is

"BATTERIES?!?"

at the end. Al's tone and face are what sells it.

(Actually, RadioShack is what's selling stuff, Al's just helping to promote them. But whatever, my point stands.)
