Re: RadioShack Commercial
I bet a lot more people have Radio Shack on their mind because of Al. I thought they were going out of business awhile back.

This is true, they were in trouble, and in danger of going out of business. That is why they hired Al to do this ad. They figured someone as recognizable and funny as Al would help boost sales, and bring people back to their stores. I hope it works.Burger wrote:I bet a lot more people have Radio Shack on their mind because of Al. I thought they were going out of business awhile back.
4 words that Al said to me that blew me away:
"How's Problem Child doing?" - 7/12/11
So awesome!

Yeah, I didn't see the Superbowl ad, but I heard it wasn't that good.

Al has to be one of the most popular men in the world. It might work.algonacchick wrote:This is true, they were in trouble, and in danger of going out of business. Just in USA, I'm afraid (he didn't get a single mention in our media this summer - or ever, for that matter). But radioshack is american, so it might work for them anyway.Burger wrote:Al has to be one of the most popular men in the world. It might work.

Re: RadioShack Commercial
Maybe he's too evolved for our second world country's taste. I mean, the most of celebrity news are about their personal drammas, diets, intimate confessions etc., and in that respect Al is as boring as it gets . Also maybe the fraction of population that comprehends English well enough to get the jokes is still too small, mainly limited to 15-35 year-olds with above-average intelligence.Burger wrote:You'd be surprised. Sounds like your country is watching a bit too much Jerry Springer. Boring is a good thing at times.mellow weasel wrote:Maybe he's too evolved for our second world country's taste.
