In tonight's episode of The Goldbergs, Adam Goldberg defended his embarrassing shot for shot remake of a New Kids On The Block music video by comparing himself to Weird Al. Worth watching the episode for this shout out! This is a good show, by the way!

They referenced me by name in season one. Adam was listing all of the popular kids at school and I made the cut. I went to the same film camp that he did growing up.

Al Hath Tweeted that he will be appearing on The Goldbergs on ABC as "the '80s version" of himself on February 17th. Personally, I think it looks more like Alapalooza era, but I wasn't alive anyway so what do I know?

There's an extra picture in his Facebook post as well. Why is he holding hands with the mom???

He looks right for the time the Goldbergs takes place; if memory serves, Al looked like this during the mid-to-late 80s onto the early-to-mid 1990s.

As for the topic at hand: I've enjoyed the Goldbergs since its premiere, and seeing Al play himself, albeit thirty-years younger is a nice throwback for all of his older fans.

I actually pretty much agree that he looks like early 90s Al, but this is probably the best costuming anyone has done that makes him look like he did in the past. Kind of want to see it.

Glad I'm not the only one who sees more '93-96 Era Al than '87-89 Era Al in this photo. Other than that, they did a way better job of capturing Als' vintage look than the HIMYM folks did. Gee, if only they had just given Al a smaller, shorter wig here they would've REALLY nailed it!
