Al on Gary and Mike

Post by minnick27 »

I dont know if anyone watches this, it's on Comedy Central on Sunday nights. Well this past Sunday Gary and Mike were at a bar mitzvah and the entertainment was Al. But it was the old look Al, and whoever did the voice wasnt very good, think he was trying to capture the DTBS sound, it didnt work. But it was still neat to see another claymation Al.

BTW, that episode is scheduled to rerun on Wednesday night / early Thursday morning again on Comedy Central at 2:30 AM EST / 1:30 AM CST, if anybody wants to see it. The episode is entitled "New York, New York" and originally aired on UPN on February 6, 2001 -- certainly well into Al's post-Lasik phase. And no, as Mike said, it's not the real Al, but an imitator. Gotta admit, he does do a mean bar mitzvah, though .... :satisfied:

Although "Hava Tequila " was pretty obvious. It would be like Al doing Jingle bells; Batman smells. Oh well, what can we expect from amateurs?

Actually, I was a little impressed ... they actually mentioned ACTUAL Al songs, like Eat It, AORTB, and GJWTHL. And they didn't introduce him as "Weird Al" YankovicHHHHHHHH.

But, still, yah ... the "Have A Tequila" was pretty lame ....

Oh well, ya take what ya can get ....

I think they were just tryng to hit all the recognizable points. Hair, glasses, mustache, and the Hawaiian shirt. Of course as was mentioned earlier, it was done after the change, so they either figured people wouldnt recognize new Al, or they are just ignorant, or a little of each. And it was only a quick shot, so maybe they figured it wouldnt matter.
