I loved the first three episodes this season, but felt the most recently one was weak.
And basically they were supposed to be, but CN threw a fit over it so the show just throws subtle nods in hinting at it.

Re: Adventure Time
That's a super-touchy topic for the fans. According to Adam Muto (one of the co-writers for the episode "What Was Missing", which sparked the whole issue), he and Rebecca Sugar (the other writer) wanted Marceline's and Bubblegum's relationship to be ambiguous so that the viewers could make up their minds. A recap video, however, took the shipping angle and ran with it, forcing Fred Seibert, the show's producer, to remove the video because it "did not represent the original cartoon or its writers well" and Muto felt that the way it choose to interpret the relationship was "dumb"JohnnyLurg wrote:Was it ever confirmed whether Bubblegum and Marceline are lesbians or not?

So it's still pretty much up in the air, but I don't really care. As long as the show is good, I will watch it.
That episode was the bomb. I've been very happy with the entire season so far.weirdojace wrote:Aww, I thought Up a Tree was awesome.

Re: Adventure Time
I like to think Marceline and Bubblegum were romantically involved at one point. It's fun to speculate. And it makes Bubblegum's comment "I never said you had to be perfect!" in "What Was Missing" make more sense to me. Plus, when Pendleton Ward is asked about it, he never denies it.
On another note, "All the Little People" was a great episode and again, one of the more surreal episodes they've done. I love it when they do episodes like that. Jake was so disturbed he left Finn alone for 16 weeks, haha.
edit: Here's some lovely out-of-context screenshots from the new episode:

Re: Adventure Time
Happy Al got a bigger role in this episode! The episode on a whole wasn't perfect, but still a pretty good one.
Plus, Al got a song!
