Re: Spam: Would You Eat It?
I've never tried spam. I've no idea whether it's even sold in Lithuania, and if so, how it would be called . But given a chance I'd try it. I can try anything that's at least remotely edible - snails, insects etc....

I tried Spam for the first time while I was in Hawaii a few years ago. It was actually pretty fantastic, but it was also grilled and served with a lot of other stuff. I've never eaten it directly out of the tin, and I don't think I'd particularly want to do that.

On Wikipedia it says that "Hawaii consume the most Spam per capita in the United States".Moneybags wrote:I tried Spam for the first time while I was in Hawaii a few years ago.

I voted "No". Just looks unappetizing. Hehe, I saw two jugglers called The Zucchini Brothers at Ren Fest one year. They call themselves "Ripe" and "Green". They were juggling many items, including a handful of Spam! At one point, one of them shouted something like "Here's lunch!", and threw the Spam out into the audience. Too funny!

Spam, wonderful Spam! I'll tell you one thing--it is mighty tasty pan-fried and made into a sandwich.

But also slightly cruel . I wouldn't like squishy meat products thrown at mealgonacchick wrote:At one point, one of them shouted something like "Here's lunch!", and threw the Spam out into the audience. Too funny!

I have found footage from that performance! Btw, Ripe is on the left, and Green is on the right. Green actually threw the Spam at the audience after the two of them were finished juggling. If you want to watch from the point where the Spam is mentioned on, it starts at 4:27.

My grandmother lived in Austin, MN (home of SPAM) so she had many recipes, but I have no interest in any of it.

I've grown up in Hawaii, so spam was in many of the foods in my diet. The best thing out here with spam in it is a spam musubi...spam wrapped with rice, egg, and nori. Very tasty.
Fun fact - our McDonalds includes spam in some of their breakfast meals!
