OE and I were talking about this on the trip back to John Wayne Airport.

Here's the setup:

Al offers to give you any one item from his career. It can be anything, it's a fantasy, remember?

What are your top three choices?

Mine are:

1. The Notebook from RWS. All the notes he used for writing the lyrics, any research he did, recording schedules, tour notes... the WHOLE shebang. (Edited to add that this would be a handwritten item, even if most of the real thing was done on his computer.)

2. The Mighty Silver Suit.

3. A lock of those lucious curls.

Who's next?

The tape that contains

Born to be Mild

Orgy on my Own

Throw Gravy on You

More than a Filling

Dead Car Battery Blues

A Matter of Crust

I'm Stupid Blues

and all those other songs that we somehow know all the words to but have never actually heard. hey wait, do we know anything about orgy on my own other than the title?

oh and that tape would also have The Alternative Polka (Buddy Holly Version)

The lyrics or recorded version, whatever was done, of the When Doves Cry parody. Does anyone know what that was supposed to be called or anything?

The VHS tape Bermuda has of Albuquerque encores.

If i could get a fourth thing, i'd get the footage already shot of the couch potato video. or if nothing was shot, then id get the story boards.

if i got even one of those things, id be the envy of Al fans everywhere.

and i bet i could get some cool things from dave, while i'm at it.

To be, during the songwriting process, Al's assistant for a day. He would recite possible lyrics and I would type (I know this kinda creates a middle-man type thing, but just think of the insider's info I could have ;) ). I would, of course, save multiple copies regularly while working, in case of a computer crash. And multiple pictures/videos of said day, for proof.

Katoot- Would not try to make money off this material before the albums release, and would only use as barter material, for other memorabilia, after said release.

Hmmm, this is hard. I always thought having a pair of Al's vans would be neat.

Surviving copies of his radio show, a collection of the rare songs, and the blonde dancer from the Pentiums video's phone number.

His house, and everything on it

His bank account, and everything in it

His first accordion

No no no....that's just diabolical....taking away his first accordion?!

..............for real here...(likes to be realistic...sorta)

AN accordion(I don't care, just so it's AN ACCORDION)

That freakin' cool blue shirt with the squares he had on Poodle Hat(IT WOULDN'T FIT ME THOUGH!)* Make sure it's autographed!

A tape(or whatever it's on)(or collection) of ALL the instrumental tracks he's EVER done(karaoke time!!!!)

*Since I WOULD be meeting him, I'd just ask him where he got the shirt, then buy it myself. So I still have a third option:

Kuni no gi ga, hoshii desu!!!!!!
