World of Weird Al Yankovic

It reminded me of "Where's the Love" - the song they did on The Weird Al Show.

This song is stuck in my head. Dafanatly one of my favorites!

I think the whole idea of Al professing his phoned in love for a significant other is funny by itself, but he could've gone a different direction with it. A lot of the other tracks show evidence that Al is getting as edgy as he'll ever be, but this one is a bit more sophomoric than truly edgy. Still, there's nothing in horrible taste at least. I hesitate to put this one up there with the likes of One More Minute or YDLMA as one of Al's great "twisted" love songs.

I'm thinking that one reason he might have stayed away from the edgier stuff in this song, and even for saying "making out" instead of "making love" might be because he was parodying a band made up of children (at the time of their success and at the time of this style) so he was trying to cast himself as a younger role.

Yeah there are quite a bit of recycled jokes...but I still freaking love it!!

This morning I was cleaning my bathroom and as I was scrubbing the toilet this song came on I began to appreciate both the song and the activity on a whole new level. I recommend it to everyone.

What a great strategy... do something you hate, but need to do, but do it while listening to Al. Then it becomes enjoyable and you had a good experience doing the task. (I was doing tons of housework last night and streaming Alpocalypse... because Amazon hadn't delivered it.)
