Alpocalypse/Alapalooza Spooky Connections

Post by Bruce the Duck »

Lots of spooky connections between Alpocalypse and Alapalooza.

*Only two albums with Al-puns in the titles.
*Only two albums with country parodies
*Only time Al parodies a parent then a child of that parent
*Only time Al gives the profits made by one of the singles to a charity
*Both albums contain a tribute to Queen

Any other similarities?

Which song off of Alapalooza's proceeds went to charity?

And that also seems to be the last time Al felt he was too hard on the artist that it motivated him to do an act of charity

This is kinda creepy

Yes, good point! That is the motivation for both proceeds going to charity!

Let's just hope the sales of Alpocalypse don't suck quite as much as Alapalooza's.

But let's hope this album rocks as much as Alapalooza. (BTW, I loved that album, definitely one of his underrated albums!)

Two more connections, though not as impressive as the others:

*Both albums have a song about trashy, tabloid television (Talk Soup, TMZ).
*Only two polkas with titles that are direct parodies of the title of the original (or one of the originals featured).

Interesting connections, but what is the country song on ALpocalypse? "Party in the USA"? I always just pegged that as a pop song.

EDIT: Oops...nevermind! I saw this topic before reading the news about the Taylor Swift parody! Never mind.

Track 1- "Perform This Way", "Jurassic Park": Both songs about monsters!
Track 2- "CNR", "Young, Dumb and Ugly": Hard rock style parodies, both about supposed badasses!
Track 3- "TMZ", "Bedrock Anthem": Songs about TV shows!
Track 4- "Skipper Dan", "Frank's 2000" TV": Alternative rock style parodies, both characters desperately want something they don't have!
Track 6- "Craigslist", "Traffic Jam": Keyboard heavy songs, style parody of band where lead singer is an asshat!
Track 11- "Whatever You Like", "Waffle King": Both songs start with the letter 'W'!

I'm sure you could make a lot of random generalizations like this when comparing any two albums.

Here's one: Both albums are follow-ups to publicly perceived "comeback" albums

Of course, the public thinks all Al's albums are comebacks.
