Some of his best guitar playing has got to be on his own album, Coconut Hat. Found an old article about his slack-key guitar playing here. 8)
"Weird Al" has a charisma that's all his own. The awkward, the misshapen, the socially inept flock to his banner.

I heard on NPR this morning that the Grammys have a new category for Hawaiian music. I suppose Jim will be eligible if he releases another CD like Coconut Hat. I don't think it matters that he's Canadian.
This means something. This is important.

I'm not exactly an expert on the subject, but I love Jim's bit on the Live video between The Saga Begins and Yoda. Or is it between Fat and Saga? Brain fart.
Carpe Musica

I'm not being condescending, I'm too busy thinking about far more important things you wouldn't understand.

Coolness!

But would he be eligible if it's not released on a "major label?" Not that I think Jim really would care-- it seems to be his personal relaxation-and-creativity music.

But let me say that I'm ALL in favor of another CD like Coconut Hat.
