There are clotheslines strung along the ceiling with CD's hanging from them, clipped on by wooden clothespins. Quilts on the ceiling too, and glow-in-the-dark glittery stars. There's a stuffed frog hanging from the boom that one of the cameras is attached to. The seating is an extremely miscellaneous collection of kitchen chairs, dining room chairs, fold-up wooden theater seats, a couple of sofas and even one bed. There's (horrors!) a bagpipe on the piano [insert bagpipe joke here]. And when I went to the restroom (way in the back, after you walk through the "bar" where you can get bottles of water or cans of soda out of the fridge on the donation/honor system), I noticed that the hot-water tap handle was an oven temperature control knob, and the cold-water tap was a volume control knob.
 Wow... it sure seemed interesting. That's really cool though.

Thanks for the detailed report, I'm glad you got to go! ;)

Jim sounded great! I had trouble connecting while Mr. Tapia was playing , so I missed that but got to see the other band play. I was awesome and can't wait to get the new CD.

Note to Patti: I meant, of course "wrong state" for purposes of attending Jim's concert in person. Not a general diss of the other 49. :D

Wonder if he's going to play locally more often?

I know Jim's a man of few words, but what did he say? Did he recognize you?

No, he didn't recognize me, which I'd hardly expect when our previous interaction consisted of one autograph request. He asked if I had a marker for someone else's autograph (no, sorry!), said "Thank you," and he said the new CD would be out as soon as the packaging was finished.

First rule of meet 'n greets: bring a sharpie. Actually, bring two. In case one quits.

Thanks OE!

After my first (sharpieless) concert I learned my lesson. It's now one of the first things that gets packed, along with my digital camera. Oh, and Bermuda prefers the double ended sharpies. ;)

I know. That's why I put this guy ;) in my post. I do wish I could get out to CA in this lifetime. I'm glad you got to go, and that you got to talk to Jim, no matter how brief it was.
4 words that Al said to me that blew me away:

"How's Problem Child doing?" - 7/12/11

So awesome!
