Still, what is the point of adding those words in at all? It doesn't really privide much of an extra laugh!? Even though the words themselves aren't that bad, the fact that Al feels the need to add them in that makes him lose a bit of esteem in my eyes. It's immature, and very unnecessary. :(

QFT!

I have never gotten the shock over a cuss word or two. Like TheLazenby said, it isn't like Al is doing this sort of thing on a regular basis. For me, I am uncomfortable with people putting Al (or any celeb) on such a pedestal that they can't occasionally say "ass" or make some mistake without people putting them down or losing respect for them. Look at the body or work/life IMO to get the whole picture and let folks make mistakes. It makes us all human.

Oh, is this thread about Phony Calls? :) The song is not fantastic, not horrible. I have never really been a Simpsons fanatic so the main part of this song loses its appeal after the first couple of listens.

If you don't like it, just ignore it. It doesn't matter.

True, no one is forcing you to turn your volume up all the way. This is coming from someone that thought that it was an unnecessary addition to the song.

To me, swearing is should never be deemed as something acceptable in regular conversation, even though I will admit it can sometimes be funny. I've never done it once, and I've never been tempted to.

I do think that Al was just trying to have some fun and what he did wasn't wrong. It's not like he's serious or that he actually uses those words when confronting people. His music and live shows can still easily be geared towards families. The only song that could easily be labeled as "suggestive" is Jerry Springer. Even then the swearing is a complete joke. I mean, the fake portion of the show during the song uses a certain word that's accurate (and not an actual swear word) since the subject was a female dog.

If you hear him swear loudly, it's probably used in an appropriate form.
