Yes, technically it would be considered a cover. And a very good one at that.

Although I'm a big fan of this one, I hadn't thought about it, haha. But really, I think it is polka cover.

I've always wondered, since it's a cover, why Al chose not to copy Freddy Mercury's vocal style. I'm pretty sure he could have done it, so I'm thinking it was because he was kind of making fun of the song, and that it was polka-style?

I agree with everyone else. It is a polka cover.

Well, I think Al wanted to make it unique, and fit the polka style. And no offense to Al, who is a great singer especially in recent years, but nobody can hold a candle to Freddie when it comes to singing.

I agree with anth. NOBODY can match the voice of Freddie Mercury. When Queen + Paul Rodgers was created, Paul didn't try to imitate and sing like Mercury, he sung like bad COM-PA-NAY! *gets shot*

Anyway, if Al DID sing like Mercury, it just wouldn't fit with the polka.

I agree, Al probably couldn't match Freddy Mercury's voice perfectly, but he could have matched the style and come pretty close, IMHO. But that wouldn't have fit the style.

Well, most of the time, Al doesn't imitate an artist's voice in the polka. He just sounds like Al.
