I'm not too fond of this particular song. He's had some better originals than this, to be honest.

Sorry to bump an old thread, but do all the copies of "Airline Amy" have static in them around the 2:50 mark?

I really like this song. There was one summer a looonnnng time ago my friend and I wanted to write parodies of weird al songs(we were weird kids). We wrote a parody of smells like nirvana(dont remember what it was called but it was about going to a catholic school :P ) and then we tried to wrte one for this song but couldnt think of anything good so we gave up on the whole thing.

But i dont think i have ever noticed static in the song, I'll have to go listen to it again

Now that you mention it... mine does. I don't actually own that album (yet) but I have a copy that I... um... borrowed... from the internets.

Now you reminded me that the other day I heard some fizz or gap in another song, but I don't remember which one. I do remember checking to see if it was remastered on the Essential, but it wasn't on the compilation.

Wow. I've completely changed my mind on this song years later.

I haven't heard this album or song in ages. Recently listened to it. Dug this song.

Yeah, it has a static sound to it around that time. I always guessed it was the peanuts opening.

I hear no such sound. My copy is ripped from the original Off The Deep End CD release on Scotti Bros. Maybe newer re-issues have this problem?

You can't hear it unless you're really listening for it. I only notice it when I'm listening through headphones. Mine's the original Off The Deep End CD.

I have never noticed the sound at all. That doesn't mean it isn't there, though. I happen to like this song and find it strange that so many don't like it.
