That's cool Louise! We use both of those in the US. Except the UK spatula here is mostly used for mixing.
We would NEVER call this a spatula though... This is a fish-slice
Don't they have Spongebob in the UK? I mean, he uses an American spatula for flipping patties, and his friends are fish.

When I took a foods class in high school, we called the bottom image a pancake-turner. Spatulas are narrow like the image on top.
This means something. This is important.

yeah we use it for flipping stuff too. I cant recall ever using a fish-slice actually for fish, (I cant afford to buy fish!) but thats just the name of the tool anyway

All I can say is, I hope not... unless her name was Amy, of course.
"Weird Al" has a charisma that's all his own. The awkward, the misshapen, the socially inept flock to his banner.

Today, for the first time in my entire life, I broke a spatula.
Living alone, and only living away from my parents' house for a few years, this is the first time that has ever happened to me. This was by far my favorite of the two spatulas I own.
Now, more than ever, I wish Spatula City was a real place.
I couldn't tell a dirt clod from a plate of caviar.

Me too.
The inner machinations of my mind is an enigma.
