This is indeed a wonderful tune. Very listenable music, even after many repetitions, hilarious observation of the details (I can just picture that carful of people-- no, wait, I can't see them behind all the souvenir attraction decals), and a great send-up of the Gordon Lightfoot-style epic ballad without really being a strict style parody AFAIK.
"Weird Al" has a charisma that's all his own. The awkward, the misshapen, the socially inept flock to his banner.

There's great breath-work in this song too. Especially in the "windows are completely covered with the decals" part. I've seen pics of the REAL twine ball.
Scary.
BTW, Anybody know where "The place where you can drive through the middle of a tree" is in real life?
And just for kicks, anyone know where The Mecca Of Albino Squirrels is also?

The Office: NBC, Thursdays at 9.
If you're not watching, you're doing yourself great injustice.

BBOTIM is a great song! It's very funny, especially the part about wishing the kids could have seen the scenery but couldn't due to all the decals.

The whole thread I linked to has a lot of our earlier discussion about BBOTIM.
