How can there not be a topic for the song yet??? This is easily among my favorite Al songs of all time. I will never forget my excitement when Al started to play this at the first concert I ever went to (one of his 2002 OC Fair shows). Please tell me I'm not the only one who ranks this song so high on their list.

Also, I read somewhere (think it was the Weird Al Wiki) that there's another verse of this that Al sometimes sings to people that he's close friends with. Is there any validity to this, or is it just made up smurf?

I love this song! It's definitely one of my favorite originals. I know I've heard about the extra verses, but I'm not sure whether Al has ever confirmed it.

Really like this song, as well as, Airline Amy. I think both are perfect examples of Al's obsessed love songs that are crazy crushes, but believable life situations. This also fits up there with the frame of mind of Good Enough For Now, although GFNW fits a more natural type of love.

Enjoyed seeing the song on the Poodle Hat Tour, including the extra pause Al fit in...to your cat.

I found footage from some shows where Jim did an extended guitar solo before the final chorus; wish there was a studio version of that. I really like this song, and it would be really cool to have it be part of the next set list.

The story about the PG-13 verse came from the Permanent Record booklet. That's the one and only place I've ever heard about it, outside of this forum.

Definitely a favorite of mine. I think it's one of Al's best choruses, lovely harmonies that grab you right from the start. Great tune and a creepy, vaguely sweet (or is it sweet, vaguely creepy?) story that go perfectly together. :D The extra verses would be awesome to hear, if true.

Btw I just noticed a YouTube comment that noticed it sounds a little reminiscent of The Hollies. Even if it's not a deliberate style parody, I can't stop hearing Allan Clarke singing it now.

One of my favorite originals he's ever done! As someone already eluded to, I loved how he emphasized a pause during some of the verses about 11 years ago during the Poodle Hat Tour. Love it! :Y

Now I may be dead but I still love you.

What is the literary term to describe this statement?
