Yesterday I heard Cyndi Lauper's song and it sounded to me as though she was singing Al's lyrics.

Of course, that could be because it was 1 pm and I was in a pizza restaurant.

Sometimes girls do just wanna have lunch. :D

Even though Im not a massive fan of it and I know Al hated it, I gotta say, its done its job.

A.k.a, I cant, physically CANNOT, listen to 'Girls Just Wanna Have Fun' without singing Als lyrics.

I judge parodies on whether they stick in my head and mess up the original in my mind. So, I guess it was good! :Y

*bump*

I'll admit this song has grown on me... but one thing just drives me up the wall....

if you listen to this verse
"Don't ask 'em to diner or breakfast or brunch,
girls just wanna have lunch" its a simple A A rhyme scheme... fair enough

All the others are like that as well EXCEPT for this one
"I don't see how they don't weigh a ton
Girls just wanna have lunch" :oo

lunch and ton don't rhyme!!!!

oooch.... I can tell Al rhymed it with "fun" and forgot his song was about lunch, so it makes sense, but Ive never heard Al do that before, which leads me to believe he didn't "Give it his all"

or he just made a mistake... one (fairly obvious) mistake in twelve ALbums is pretty sweet come to think of it...

He's done it before, though.
QUOTE ((This Song's Just) Six Words Long)This song's got nothin' to say
But I'm recording it anyway
I know if I put my mind to it
I know I could find a good rhyme here
[/quote]

And...
It's Still Billy Joel To Me wrote: Now everybody thinks the new wave is super
Just ask Linda Ronstadt or even Alice Cooper
It's a big hit, isn't it
Even if it's a piece of junk
It's still Billy Joel to me
Personally, I can't stand this song. It's probably the only Alsong that I constantly skip over.

All three sound pretty intentional, though Six Words Long and Still Billy Joel pulled it off much better and funnier. This song is just "ugh", and you can tell, just by his singing, that Al thought so too.

This song is annoying.

it probably annoys Al a bit too since he was more or less forced into it by the label suits

good thing he is a big enough star now that micromanagement does not happen
