Best Polkas on 45 Target

Inspired by Jon's parody targets series, what say you we do the same thing with the polka medleys? Starting of course with the original "Polkas on 45." This is a particularly interesting one since it mixed then-contemporary songs with some all-time rock classics. But with one or two possible exceptions, I think Al chose current hits that stood the test of time and feel pretty much at home with those old favorites listening with 2016 ears.

There are a lot of amazing songs represented here and it's a tough call between "L.A. Woman" and "Hey Jude" for me, but the Beatles win out. I do want to give a special shout-out though to "Sex (I'm A...)" because it's a really fantastic song and easily my favorite of the contemporary songs here. It may not have had the staying power of "Every Breath You Take" or "Burning Down the House," but I love it.

(For the record, I'm excluding stuff like "Beer Barrel Polka" and the Lawrence Welk theme from these polls.)

My vote is in for "Jocko Homo" because it kickstarted a whole generation of polka.

Great idea, anth!
I voted for My Generation. Lots of awesome songs in here though!

Maybe it's the fact that I wasn't born yet, but all of the songs fit well together to me. Though I can't imagine a polka that mashed up 2010s songs with 90s songs feeling right...

Definitely "Hey Jude" here. But "Burning Down The House" is probably a close second when it comes to my personal favorite.
