Currently all of Cal Poly's coffeehouses are brand name (i.e. Starbucks, Peet's, etc.).

Has anyone actually heard "Cruisin' Down Higuera," Weird Al's '79 remake of "Belvedere Cruisin'?" Higuera is arguably the main street of downtown San Luis Obispo.

It's mentioned in http://dmdb.org/discographies/al.unr" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;. viewtopic.php?p=558116" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; claims it's been aired on the Dr. Demento Show before.

I didn't see anything saying it aired, it was under live performance. It says slightly altered lyrics so it may just have been changing "going belvedere cruising tonight" to "cruising down higuera tonight"

I didn't see anything saying that it was played on KMET.

in Homestar Runner voice: "Yeah, you'we pwobabwy wight."

I am curious as to how slight the lyrical changes really are though. If nothing else, it might give some more historical insight into San Luis Obispo past.
