Co-headlining/package tours?

Post by RyanHippFTW »

been wondering why Al hasn't done one of those co-headline/package tours that have become a big deal in the last couple years, like imagine a Weird Al/B-52s tour or something, there'd be crossover appeal and smurf and it'd give Al a chance to do bigger venues

what do y'all think? would y'all wanna see Al do one of those tours? if so, with who?

Al once said he wanted to co-headline a tour with They Might Be Giants. He approached TMBG, but they turned down the opportunity saying they were "too busy"

But you are seeing another group too. It's two for one. I love Al, but seeing him with TMBG would be awesome

It'd have to be an act you wanted to see as much or more than you wanted to see Al, I just cant think of an act I like that much personally

While Al still has the stamina and audience to go 2+ hours on his own, I don't really see the point.

It would mean a shorter show for Al, and like Ludo said, I can't think of an act that I would want to see as much or more than Al. Frankly, I'm going with the old maxim of, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it."
Oh by the way, I've cracked the code.

That's another thing, he said at this point he doesn't have opening acts anymore because his show has sprawled to 2 1/2 hours and to add on anymore to that would in fact be ridiculous. Seriously, your bladder would hate you.

I guess if Al really wanted to have an opening act now, he could shorten the setlist but that would mean losing the odd deep cut here which would disappoint most real fans, but it would still be interesting to see performances of new parodies (especially the occasional "concert only" ones) so I think he'd be in good enough shape even with a slightly shortened setlist.

Guys.. there's always "Depends"

You have to take this fandom on with all the zealous fervor of a criminally jealous astronaut or you just wont make it in this town! ;)
