Which songs are always a MUST to be performed live?

Post by JEDM »

A slight spin on Jon's topic(s), but which song(s) do you believe are the ones that Al will have to do until doomsday? Are there any that many wouldn't have thought of?

Eat It is the only one song, IMO, that absolutely has to stay in the setlist for forever. Amish Paradise will most likely stay, as with Yoda and (probably) The Saga Begins.

However, I do feel like Smells Like Nirvana is being slowly phased out. With it being moved to earlier in the set, part of me thinks that Al is slowly getting ready to axe it.

I would agree that Eat It is a must, but I think Amish Paradise and Yoda are as well. It would be difficult for me to imagine The Saga Begins being removed from the setlist, but other than that, everything else is fair game.

I think due to White and Nerdy being such a huge hit with the general public, he would probably keep it. Also, fat seems like it isn't going anywhere anytime soon

These are the only untouchables in the setlist:

Eat It
Smells Like Nirvana
White & Nerdy
Amish Paradise
Yoda

All of the others could be axed, in my opinion, and I wouldn't miss them terribly.
Having said that, I would love to see Eat It make a comeback as a full length performance - ideally (and this is really dreaming on my part) the new acoustic version where it's a parody of Layla instead of Beat It. That would be an amazing addition to the show.

I know others will say Fat and Saga Begins are absolute musts, and I assume they'll never leave the set. For me, they are not requirements.

Ive asked Al twice to bring back Eat It in full and he doesny want to. He said that it would be too hard to switch it with Fat because of the costume. So mu take is both MJ parodies are staying

Musts: Eat It, Yoda, Amish Paradise and Yoda.

I'd even be happy with Eat It being dropped, but it won't happen.

I'd be happy with Fat getting dropped but I don't see it happening. I love Smells Like Nirvana but I'd not be mad if it were phased out.

I say if a song from the 80s/90s survived the SOL Tour, it'll be in the set forever, seeing as how that was the "axe everything old" tour :P
Eat It, Fat, Yoda, Amish Paradise, and now White & Nerdy probably wont be going anywhere, probably Smells Like Nirvana as well.
