Classic Original for the Mandatory Fun Tour

Post by Bruce the Duck »

Every tour, Al throws in a random, older original into the mix. Last tour it was "You Make Me." In other tours, it's been "Melanie," "Dog Eat Dog," and "Dare to be Stupid".

What older song would you like to see added to the tour this time?

Some that I wouldn't mind seeing added include:

Good Old Days
Good Enough For Now
This is The Life
Dare to be Stupid (4-String Quartet Version!)
That Boy Could Dance
Airline Amy

I'd LOVE to see Airline Amy live! Easily among my favorite originals!

My top choices:
I'll Be Mellow When I'm Dead
Everything You Know Is Wrong
and a new addition to my list - Slime Creatures From Outer Space
I couldn't tell a dirt clod from a plate of caviar.

"Buy Me a Condo" might be likely. The whole band played an unplugged version of it together as recently as last year.

Right! I totalyl forgot about that. I'd say that means there's a good chance of it showing up next tour.

Has he ever done "Everything You Know is Wrong" live before? I don't remember. That could be cool to see live.

I don't think so, but I'd love to see it live. It's definitely among my favorite originals.

Wow, I can't believe he played that! I used to hate this song. I guess when I was a kid I just didn't like reggae and didn't get the jokes - now I at least tolerate it, haha. This song must have been buried for a long time before this performance?

As for the thread topic, I missed the "Dog Eat Dog" tours so that would be high on my list. As for stuff he hasn't played in a while, how about "Midnight Star" "When I Was Your Age" or "I Remember Larry"?

Buy Me A Condo is definitely the frontrunner for this slot in the setlist, but it's far from the top of the list I'd be actively rooting for.

Another one I would really like to see make a comeback is The Biggest Ball of Twine In Minnesota. I saw that live back in 1996 and it ruled!

It may not be a "classic" but I'd still like to see Al attempt to play "Virus Alert" live.

I wouldn't mind seeing Buy Me A Condo or Dog Eat Dog comeback either.
