For some strange reason this song reminded me of The Books.

Spoiler:
I was very bored by this song to be honest. Maybe that's because it's after 11:00 at night and the lyrics are supposed to be boring.

This is totally a Crosby, Stills and Nash pastiche, especially with the vocal harmonies, and the chorus at the very end.

I honestly had to go and listen to
Spoiler:
"Carry On" and "Suite: Judy Blue Eyes"
to see if it was an EXACT rip, that's how close it sounded! Jim's playing is wonderful, I'm glad he got a chance to do some real nice

acoustic
work.

I was curious how Bruce the Duck and others would react to the song's
Spoiler:
"humorless nature" - I'm guess the lyrics don't particularly read funny. Still, I find the surreal combination of corporate jargon and CSN (no Y in this one, I'm afraid) hippie folk amusing.

I don't have a problem with humorless lyrics as long as the overall effect of the song is funny, like with "Bob". I'll have to give this one another listen before I form an opinion.

Spoiler:
I really like the style and the song as a whole, but the lyrics just seemed bland and boring, probably the weakest original imo.

Spoiler:
I was sort of disappointed with this one too. Sounds authentic, but it doesn't really stand on its own IMO. The Judy Blue Eyes style outro, for example, was too much of a carbon copy as opposed to merely capturing the spirit. It reminded me of how Star Wars parodies will just slightly alter the main theme, with the only ambition being to sound as close as possible without being the exact same thing. My first impression, anyway, was that this doesn't have its own identity like his best style parodies.

Once I realized what Al was doing, I laughed pretty hard at the humorless lyrics, but it took a bit.
