Mandatory Fun Video General Chit Chat

Post by Wizzerkat »

I could not find a topic like it(if there is just merge) and I wanted to talk about these videos from a more general point of view. For instance, this whole 8 videos 8 days thing has been a terrific idea for Al so far. The man who knows how to makes things viral on the Internet shows how to use his powers to get people talking about the album. If the album does indeed reach number 1 next week, I think this will be the main reason!

The order the videos have been released so far. How much thinking do you think Al did in deciding which video to release in what order? Knowing Al, probably quite a bit!

Some of my personal possible reasons for the release order:

1. Tacky-best idea to get started is to release the video with the most celebrities to get the talking started. The original is also still popular, too. It apparently had 5 million views on Nerdist and I think 1 million elsewhere(You Tube, etc)
2. Word Crimes-Subject matter that is hitting the most people(bad writing, grammar, etc) with a good quality video
3. Foil-has celebrities(but not as many as Tacky) and a good target subject matter to laugh at
4. Handy-Most popular original song at the moment, but the video is not as visually good as the others.

I wonder what did go through his mind as he was picking the release order? I wonder if Al is surprised Word Crimes(video and song) would hit as big as it has so far?
Is my dude a dweeb?

Considering that the majority of music videos for the previous two albums were animated, I'm surprised that so far most of these music videos are live action. Not sure if making them animated was to save time or maybe money (though I think animation is more expensive than live action).

I think the most expensive one so far is Word Crimes unless the Tacky celebs charged outrageous fees.

These videos are definitely cheaper than an animated one.

Oh, perfect! :D
It doesn't matter if I do things for a reason, or on a W-H-I-M... Just stand back and enjoy the show, cuz baby, I perform this way!
