Re: Grammy Nominations
Mandatory Fun for Best Comedy Album is the most likely
Foil for Best Video would also be likely
Word Crimes for Record of the Year would be INCREDIBLE! In a perfect universe.

Re: Grammy Nominations
To be clear these are submissions for various Grammy categories, not nominations. Best of luck in all of these categories!

General Field
Category 1 - Record Of The Year WORD CRIMES
-As much as I would LOVE this, I highly doubt the Grammys will consider this great parody for this category
General Field
Category 2 - Album Of The Year MANDATORY FUN
-Another category in which it would be great to see a nomination, but probably won't.
Field 18 - Comedy
Category 56 - Best Comedy Album
MANDATORY FUN
-Not only will it be nominated, I would suspect Al's heavily favored to win!
Field 25 - Production, Non-Classical
Category 68 - Best Engineered Album, Non-Classical
MANDATORY FUN
-I don't see why he wouldn't be considered for this. SOL was nominated for a category like this if I recall correctly.
Field 29 - Music Video/Film
Category 82 - Best Music Video FOIL
-Considering other videos with more budget and such, I doubt the video receives a nomination, but we can dream!

How do submissions work? Do the artists themselves ask to be considered?

Re: Grammy Nominations
I'm thinking we'll see nominations for Best Comedy Album and Best Engineered Album. Best Music Video seems like a long shot, and Record of the Year and Album of the Year seem like extreme long shots.
Oh by the way, I've cracked the code.

Re: Grammy Nominations
I believe it will win. Who else could? According to our restless Yankovic-Gretzky (sorry if missplelled), it's still #1 in comedy.Wizzerkat wrote:

Re: Grammy Nominations
Personally, I would consider nominations for Album Of The Year and Record Of The Year to be victories in themselves.

Re: Grammy Nominations
Al's got a nomination for Best Comedy Album! Nominated alongside him are Jim Gaffigan, Louis C.K, Patton Oswalt, and Sarah Silverman. I love all of these albums. Even though I'm rooting for Al, I'd be happy with any of them winning.
