1)Do you consider yourself and Al "fanatic"?

Absolutely. Not as big as I could or should be, though. It's mostly time/money issues. However, I did install a 12-disc CD changer in my car, which has nothing but Al's CD's in it. Everywhere I go, if the stereo's on, Al's music is playing.

2)Are you "fanatical" about any other group/person?

In some ways- not musicians, though. I'm also fanatical about Nintendo, WWF, and Culver's. As a result, I'm not too popular at school. But that doesn't bother me one bit.

3)What is different, for you, about being a "Weird" Al fan?

Al's music is all I listen to. My first and only concert was "Touring With Scissors." UHF is my favorite movie of all time. I could go on, I'm sure.

1. OH YEAH BABY!!! I have EW and TFA, but I WANT MORE!!! Yeah!

2. JAG is one of the shows I watch, but I am only an Al fanatic.

3. My friend Derek has EW too, and BHD. He also prints out TONS of Al pix. The kids at school don't know who the heck he is, and this kid named John calls him Weird Al Yankyvich now that he knows him. to you John!

1. I think the term "fanatic" is scary. I am definitely an al fan, that's for sure. I have all of the original studio albums, a few singles, and a couple of the video collections. I don't have any of the compilations though. I must admit I have only seen al in concert once, which was back in 92 for OTDE. although I did get to meet him after the show (unintentionally) and we stood out in the parking lot together while he was waiting for a ride. I do plan to see him again, sometime soon. I must admit that it's hard to find someone willing to go with me to see him in concert :nervous: but I don't know much about the man himself, or his personal life. I'm more interested in the music itself. although, it does help to appreciate his music a little more knowing that he is genuinely a nice guy. it's hard to really like someone's music at times when you know that artist is a jerk!

2. there are other bands I'm more into than al: INXS, the beatles, josh clayton-felt, CAKE, etc...

3. a lot of people I know think al is very funny but have a hard time admitting it. it's like some weird sort of social rule that says "although everyone thinks al is funny, you may not publicy admit this for fear of being beaten with a whiffle ball bat". so...I do get teased because I'm not afraid to admit I enjoy al's music. although I take some pride in that, because I feel that it shows I express myself easier than most of my "cool" friends.
weird al ate my cat!

1)Do you consider yourself and Al "fanatic"?
In a way yes and a way no, I am naturally crazy by value and I as well admire Al's sense of humor. He can turn absolutely calm for a few minutes then go nuts. I as well admire his creativity when it comes to certain issues.

2)Are you "fanatical" about any other group/person?

I really enjoy listening to B182, Green Day and I absolutely love Linkin Park's music. My first fanatical person is Weird Al, probably still is.

3)What is different, for you, about being a "Weird" Al fan?

LOL, Look at my first posts around this forum. I was blasted so many times because of my ways. I guess no one accepts any sense of humor except for Al's. I just say plip plop it all to heck. I really try to have a good sense of humor and I like thinking up crazy songs of my own.

1. I don't think I'm "fanatical,", but Al and the band probably rank as one of my all-time favorite groups. I missed one concert on the last tour to go see my daughter's friend sing in a High School Choir concert, and missed another concert for a library function so I think my life is still somewhat in balance. However, there are people such as my coworkers who would definitely class me as "fanatical". And my patrons know me as "The 'Weird Al' lady."

2. Other things high on my list? I've listened to Dr. Demento since his early years, and try to hear as much of him as I can. Whenever possible I go see the Monkees, Ringo and some Rockabilly bands. There are some authors that I love and I read their books cover-to-cover the day the book is issued.

3. Well, my interest in Dr. D. and Al has given me the unofficial title of "Demented Music Specialist" for one of the five largest library systems in the United States. When I joined the library system I had no idea that I would regularly be doing displays on Weird Al. And they're tough to do! As soon as I display the CDs and videos they get checked out, leaving me with empty shelves.

BTW, I figured out once that some of our CDs have been checked out over 250 times. And we carry "UHF" and 'The Compleat Al" in VHS format. How many other libraries do that?

Incidentally, the library just ordered new copies of Al's CDs for all 29 branches since there is such demand.

I wouldn't exactly say "fanatic." In fact my interest in Weird Al and the band is fairly recent. I have been aware of Al for years ( He's that "Eat It " guy, right?) But I only started really paying attention to his music since RWS.

2)Are you "fanatical" about any other group/person?

No. And what I find most compelling about this man, as well as the guys in the band, is how unSTARlike he is. I have never had the opportunity to meet any of the guys, or go to a concert (yet), but from what I gather (from Weirdal.com and other fan sites) these guys are genuinely nice people. They don't take for granted that they have "made it" , nor do they seem to find their fans to be an annoyance.

The access they allow their fans to have is pretty amazing (and I don't know of anyone else out there who is as "user friendly".) Bermuda has done a phenomenal job making the who Weird Al Experience available to HIS fans. The website is pretty incredible!

3)What is different, for you, about being a "Weird" Al fan?

I think the world just knows Al for his humor. The more I know about his music I think that the humor is just a small part of it. Technically, I think Al and the guys are really gifted musicians. Most of the time, I like their version MUCH better than the originals.

I can't wait for the new album!
