Well at long last, Al will be animated as a resident of Springfield! Im surprised it hasnt happened before, hes obviously been a supporter. and its odd that the news came today, i was watching the show and one of the background characters looked like Al and I wondered when it would actually be him. Well its coming!
Mike

Callooh! Callay!
This is great news! I guess Al has finally made it in pop culture, huh? After all, he was only poking fun of it himself for about a decade before The Simpsons came to be.
I don't suppose Al's part in the episode will be anything really big.....which is a shame, since there's an empty space right next to the rest of my Simpsons celebrity action figures.
So, "Guest voice on Simpsons" is finally crossed off Al's "to do" list. What does everyone think he should aim for next? SNL? (not my choice, but just an example).

Instead of SNL, how about "Mad" TV?
Actually, Al has been on Mad, according to the TV appearence list at Al-oholics Anonymous.
Anyway, random thought: Could this appearance come around the same time as the new album and thus, be used to plug it? (Behind the Music sort of did that for the last one)
I just can't wait for the show to appear with him in it.
