That is a killer set! I'd love to catch that.

Lived in Milwaukee all my life and I wasn’t able to put together that he’d do a polka cover. I felt really dumb that I was disappointed. Hopefully a cover with lyrics tomorrow, or at least I hope we’ll get the covers streaming after the tour.

Very pleased with the set list aside from my naivety.

Yeah, having seen him at both Chicago shows the only new song was Eddie Vedder... but of course that's the result of getting 38 different songs in two nights! And going into tonight I mostly hoped to get any one of Twine Ball, Midnight Star, Nature Trail, or Download again, and I got all four - so very happy!!

I missed Emo this time but during Al's set I thought the crowd was - with one or two exceptions (the guy persistently holding up a lighter during Why Does This Always Happen To Me?) - fine. But can't speak to Emo's set. Seemed to be a lot fewer people recording with a total lack of awareness about their phone screens this time, too.

Had lots of fun, I got my favorites again and I appreciated some songs more this night than earlier in the weekend (like Young, Dumb and Ugly.)

I couldn't see any microphone picking up his accordion (and I couldn't hear it very well). Someone in the crew told me it was "mic"ed internally - inside the bellows.
I've pretty much only ever seen him use "electric" accordions with an internal mic. This tour, his accordion is basically digital - a MIDI controller that can trigger any sound.
Same here. Each show I've been to this tour he's used the Roland V-Accordion.

And I haven't heard Mr. Popeil either, but it's not new to this tour. Ah well. It was certainly a great show.

No sour grapes here. Just would like to see them all.
Funny, cuz I went to 3 shows this tour (and unfortunately have no others coming up unless I plan an impromptu getaway) and I saw Popeil twice and Traffic Jam, but none of the others....now Weird Al fans finally know the frustration of following bands with different setlists every night. After seeing 60 shows, I've seen every song on TMBG's first 4 albums (with the exception of I've Got A Match, which hasn't been played live since 1989) but there are still many songs I've missed because they were only played a handful of times at the start of their new album's tour and dropped by the time they got around to playing NYC, and I suspect it's gonna be the same deal with some tracks from We Like Fun, at least until they decide to play a 20th anniversary show where the whole album is done. Now Pearl Jam I've seen 6 times, but have seen their entire first album, and all of their second album except for Glorified G, and who knows how many more shows I have to go to until THAT finally pops up (last time it was playing in NYC was 7/9/03....the second of the two NYC shows, where I only attended 7/8)!

Random question: did he perform Beer Barrel Polka mostly like the way he did with The Roots? Fast paced, no lyrics, and of course with an accordion?
The original artist didn't record it so much as write and distribute the sheets.
I ask because I manage this Spotify playlist

https://open.spotify.com/user/126950881 ... JbdjVQmYug" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I want to get as close to the arrangement Al does and hopefully in a way that Spotify credits the artist and benefits their next of kin or whomever.

Edit: the performance is on Youtube so, yes, it was the way he performed it alongside The Roots.
This still leaves me to deciding which recording on Spotify is the best version but at least I know exactly what to listen to.

So tonight Al did Yoda at the end, and before he sang the line "I'll be making these movies till the end of time" he paused and said he "called it in 1980!"

Before he sang Stuck in A Closet and Airline Amy he said they were no one's favorites and there'd be no refunds.

Also, he signed my Close Personal Friends of Al" shirt at the bus after the show. I also got to say hi to Emo.

Wow, this is the first time in the tour he’s done a second song by the same artist, right?
