Predicting the Tour Rotation

Post by TMBJon »

Okay, so we have another thread to predict songs that won't be played at all. How about one that predicts the most likely set of songs that they will rotate through on this tour? List the 40 songs that you think are most likely to be played, and then if you feel like it list 10 more that might be played, too! I will post my list soon.

Love these kinds of threads. Without looking at my list of the ones I thought wouldn't be played, I'll take a stab at it. Since Bermuda confirmed 50-52 originals, I'll pick 52.

My 40, for most likely (And cheating off Muppets confirmed list... Mr. Frump, YEY!!!)

Again, not necisarily MY pics, but, most likely.

There are a few not on my list like Everything You Know Is Wrong and Pancreas, that I would like to see, but I'm not sure it could be pulled off.

(Same with Mr. Propeil, I'd love to see it, but since there wont be any backup female singers... it's more importiant on Mr. Propeil than, say, Midnight Star.)

I was wrestling with this for a while, but I think this list is a pretty good idea of what I think will likely be played. Obviously, I don't believe it's absolute, and there will probably be more representation from all of the albums. It's also kinda difficult, because I had to figure what songs would translate well into a five-piece band, since there will be no backing tracks or things like that to assist them. Some songs could still be played if Al assisted more on accordion or possibly keyboard, like in the early days. I tried to assume what two/three songs I thought were the most likely candidates on each album.

Buckingham Blues
Mr. Frump In The Iron Lung
I'll Be Mellow When I'm Dead

Well, I just saw Bermudas' facebook post saying how out of the 52 (+?) songs they were rehearsing these past few days there would be 23 that have never been performed live before. I started out just trying to make a list of what I thought those 23 songs would be based on which originals have either never been added to the setlists of previous tours or have yet to be performed by Al with his full regular back up band (if Al himself had performed them in the past with other backup performers). Then, I logged back into this site to post that list until I saw this new thread and figured I might as well just combine that list with a list of the originals Al and the band we know and love HAVE performed live on past tours that they could perform again this year as they would fit the theme of THIS tour (which seems to just be original songs Al and the band can posdibly find ways to strip down and easily perform semi-acoustically without any backing tracks). Of course, I also made sure to include the songs that some here have previously identified somewhere as being "confirmed" for this tour. So, without any further ado, here is my proper contribution to this new thread.

Yeah mine is kind of a mix of what I really want to see and what I figure they will end up doing. Those of which, have already been played just had to be on there. Hope it's easy to find out what they do at the first show, maybe Bermuda or Jim will put it on their Facebook or something.

I'm sure that there'll be members at the Poughkeepsie show, and that they'll post the songs played. However, since every show will be different, it will take a dozen or more shows before there's a complete and accurate list all of the originals being played on the tour.

So, knowing what's performed at show #1 is of little help as to what will be performed at show #2, or #3, or #27. The plan is to have 76 unique performances, and I can pretty much guarantee that will happen. :)
