This tour keeps becoming the perfect pipedream of elevator pitches fulfilled. We got not one but 77 deep cut heavy concerts. They will be available online with different variations each time.

I asked him at the RI Comic Con Q&A if he would be down for a cover album and he said no. This is even better. Up to (potentially!) 77 different covers. Lets not hold him to that standard as he said it is no guarantee but thats potentially a boxset's worth of cover albums. Pinch me. This sounds wonderful.

Has anyone heard if the covers are included in this? I've seen no sign that they wouldn't be but still.
I'd understand as there'd be a valid reason but, man, I'd be so deeply disappointed when there's so much new material for Al fans. 23 of the 30 songs are material he has never done before, and 6 of the remaining are songs he has only performed once or twice in an unreleased performance.

When I asked Bermuda he had assumed they would be included. Paused for a moment to think about it, then said something along the lines of he would hope Al would pay whatever to have them included.

Plus the card says hear all shows not hear all shows except the cover song.

When other bands release concerts, what do they do? I would assume they include any cover songs. And when you think about it including cover songs aren’t much different than including parodies on the previous live DVDs. He’s still gotta pay someone something to include those.

If they don't get included, I'm sure there will be a rarities collection getting passed around pretty quickly. So far I've heard a good 90% of these covers on youtube or elsewhere.

I know Pearl Jam probably has a bigger budget than Al, but every one of their concert contains at least 3 covers, and they always include them when they sell their concert recordings...

I for one hope that all of Al's stories between songs remain intact. That's been one of my favorite things about this tour, since we are learning a lot of history about some of the lesser known songs.

I dunno if it means anything but, my favorite band (and when the lead singer goes solo) they release the audio on wristbands then in later years just used the wristbands to activate the download from. They didn't do a cover every time, but the times they did, it was on there. (At least 3-4 times that I personally saw.)

Bermuda says he’s heard the draft copies of the first 28 shows and they are as played. Includes the cover songs and all the in between banter. As far as he can tell they even left in things like all the false starts so they are presented as full complete shows as is.

My mind would wrestle back and forth with "what if they don't make it on there" a lot for the past two months or so. Thanks for the update!

Good news. TMBG was selling concert recordings for a couple years and those edited out some of the between song banter and false starts, and sometimes entire songs if there was a technical problem in the recording. It DID include the covers but they were slick about it by calling those tracks "..." (except for the established ones that they've recorded for albums).

What I'm wondering is if there's going to be a way to buy or download the individual shows, so that I don't have to deal with a streaming service if I want to listen to the NYC shows in another 5 years? If the shows are even AVAILABLE in 5 years.....the above mentioned TMBG shows are not, not for any price, and can only be obtained at all through underground means (and attempting to make the good gesture of sharing some a couple years back got me kicked out of the TMBG Facebook group, so don't ask!)
