04/06-04/07/18: The Vic Theater, Chicago, IL

Post by anthontherun »

I'll be there for both of these. Initially just got $60 tickets for the 6th and figured I'd wait up for the 7th but seeing that the top two non-VIP tiers are sold out, I jumped on some $40 tix today.

My friend Mike was like, "I'm officially excited for an event that's more than six months away," and I was like, "Dude, I've been excited for this ever since the rumors popped up two or three years ago." I'm going to be unashamedly squealing at the start of every song.

If he does Jackson Park Express anywhere, it should be here.

Are these shows going to be standing only? The Vic's website says all shows are standing only unless otherwise noted.

At the Vic? No, there are seats.

Wasn't sure because of this from the Vic's website:

SEATING:
– All shows are completely general admission, unless otherwise noted.
– There are fixed theater seats in our balcony that are first come, first served.
– The main floor is standing only, unless otherwise noted.
– There is an area set aside on the main floor for those with disabilities. Please call (773) 472-0449 if you require handicap seating.
– Please arrive early, especially for sold out shows, for the best view possible.

I realize all the tickets have seat numbers, but I wasn't sure if that would suffice for "unless otherwise noted" as I couldn't find anything on their site that designated this as a "reserved seating" show.

There are seating tiers for this one, so it's definitely not general admission. Most of their events' ticket pages are a lot simpler.

So. Let me tell you a little story about the time Kevbo was a complete neanderthal. I thought I was buying tickets to both of these shows. However, being a total neanderthal, I bought two sets of tickets. To Friday's show. Yep. And I just noticed today. And Saturday is sold out. And the tickets on StubHub are completely and utterly outrageous. Does anyone on here happen to have an extra set of tickets for Saturday? Or you're going on Saturday but wouldn't mind swapping for Friday? Or any suggestions for poor Kevbo, who planned an entire trip to Chicago just for the purpose of going to these two shows?

My second ticket for the 7th is as-yet unclaimed...

Also, there is a karaoke bar right around the corner from this theater if people want to meet up before or after either show and perform the parodies Al won't be doing.

I ended up changing plans, so I won’t make it to Chicago. I still have two more shows on the tour though, so it’s all good.
