Have you and Al heard about the news in Detroit?

I was just curious about your thoughts. It always nice to see Al's name in the news...(even better when it's spelled right), but this one upset me. The video clip of the story also irked me....to the point of an editorial e-mail.

I saw the online story, but not the video. I let Al know about it but I don't know what he thought. Funny that they'd use a picture of Al from over 4 years ago, when his "new look" has been so widely publicized in the media, especially during the last 2 years.

I should add that to the FAQ: "Has Al ever robbed a bank?" hahahahahahaha

I don't know which would have been worse, though, using Al's old publicity photo or doing a police sketch. After all, if that guy really does bear a close resemblance to (classic look) Al and they had used a sketch the police would probably be flooded with calls from people saying that the suspected robber was Al [or "Wired Al Yankovich, officer, I swear it!"] At least with the photo they can make the disclaimer about Al not being a suspect. But hey, what do I know....

Cheers, Diva

who was just a little tempted to make a wisecrack about the mortgage on the new house but thought better of it

and who recalls the classic scene in Naked Gun 2 1/2 with Al as the desperado saying "Say your prayers, pigs"

Well I personally think the fact that they are using Al's picture on Wanted posters is offensive. There are alot of parents out there who will still associate Weird Al with crime because of this, even if they hear/see the 'disclaimer', and not let their kids listen to his music.

Heey.. maybe it's the guy that played the fake Al in The Compleat Al ?!

No, seriously.... I am wondering if Al can tell the Dearborn Heights PD to stop using his image on a WANTED POSTER? I have no idea why they thought that was a good idea. It is highly irresponsible.

Thanks, Susan for correcting me on the correct police department.
