We forgot to ask.

Glad to see some of the major current names in this type of music (chris, Frontalot,Luke Ski) showing up

Have you guys thought of MC Lars? He's actually the one who introduced me to the music of the aforementioned 3. He too has mad respect for Weird Al. Him, chris and Front are all rappers as well as comic musicians (and other things), so they might be inclined towards Al's rap songs perhaps?

mc chris covered Dare To Be Stupid on his 2009 album apple tummy, BTW.

I'm tempted to pledge $42, but I'll think about it.

MC Lars will be on the album, yes. We just confirmed him as a contributing artist, which is pretty exciting.

We originally asked Chris to include his Dare To Be Stupid cover for the CD but he insisted on covering something new.

$42 would be a nice addition to our donation bin, but do what you'd like, sir.

Really cool that MC Lars is involved.
It's a shame The Great Luke Ski has to be on it but I guess he sort of has to be involved, right? Do you think it will be anything good? I'm sure Jace, Austin, and Tony can't really comment on that since they are all fellow comedy musicians and the FMP and all that but does anyone actually like The Great Luke Ski?

One thing I thought was cool about the last collection was the involvement of Chris Ballew from PUSA. I've always envisioned the perfect Weird Al tribute album as the original artists covering Al's parodies with invitations sent out to every artist Al has parodied or style parodied and inviting them to participate, hoping at least 10 do. It seems ambitious but not out of the question that it could ever happen. Did you guys try reaching out to, say, Ben Folds or another artist that we know is a fan of Al's to appear in some form on the CD?

Actually my friend was telling me (ironically that friend being the guy who made that last tribute CD with Chris on it) that was his idea of a perfect Al tribute too, so I guess we could try to email some famous people. The most famous I've tried thus far has been Jonathan Coulton and he turned us down.

We also tried Chris Hardwick and he turned us down too. And Paul & Storm.

I hadn't even thought about Ben Folds. I mean, he just seems so far out of our reach. Nonetheless, that would be amazing.

I think that Luke Ski likes Luke Ski. He has funny stuff, but for the most part it's bad imitations of cartoon characters. As far as this cd, I think that getting celebrities to cover Als version of their songs. Imagine Madonna singing LAS. Devo doing DTBS.
