Glad to have found this forum. I think Weird Al is a genius, and we need more laughter in this world. Last year, I took two of my kids to the sold out show at Radio City Music and they loved it. I look forward to future family outings.

Hi!
My name is Margarita, I'm 26, and I love Weird Al!
I want to apologize in advance for any grammar or syntax errors I'll make - english is not my native language. I've been living in Siberian part of Russia since I was born, so, although, I got my degree in linguistics, I'm still far from being fluent - there are not so many native speakers of english in my town to practice with.
I've watched Amish Paradise video for the first time when I was about 15 years old, and I liked it alot, but I haven't become a huge fan of Al until about a year ago. For some reason, I started to see Al everywhere on the internet (Blizzon performance, that funny video with Alex Hirsh, etc.) and, finally, I decided to check what else "that guy with Amish Paradise" is up to. And now I just can't stop thinking about him and listening to his music, like, every day. I know some russian people who like Weird Al, his songs and parodies, but, honesly, Al is not extremely popular in Russia, as you may know. So, I thought, maybe I can hang out with you, guys, on this forum! :)

Welcome Margarita :)

Good to see someone relatively near my home country, and had a similar experience. (I remember watching Amish Paradise video and liked it a lot, and I had been vaguely aware of Al as a parody artist. Then 1.5 year ago, Milo Murphy's Law announcement "Hm, I think I've heard his name before, let's update my knowledge" and the rest is the same.)

Hi, Stardrop :w
Thanks for welcoming me!
And you are from... *looks at the profile info* Japan? Wow, that's really cool! Are there a lot of Al fans in Japan now? I know that Eat it was a big hit there, but since then... I'm just kinda intrested - is Al still popular in your country?
Milo Murphy rules, btw! :D Love this show!

I'd say, more than 95% of hardcore Jojo fans in Japan can answer "Who sang the parody of Beat It, named Eat It" question, older people rememberthe Al's Japan TV appearance in 80s, and I did see Al mentioned on TV several times here this year...But generally I feel most Japanese are not so up-to-date about modern Al.

Anyway with Milo, Al is gaining more fans among my small circle of cartoon friends. Happy to see my Japanese friends say his voice is so lovely :inlove:

I didn't know about that Jojo reference! Good to know!
So, the situation is still better then in Russia, I don't think I ever saw him being mentioned on TV. And Milo Murphy here, in translation, has... well, not the best singing voice, I should say... <_<

Hello everyone, long time Al fan here. I live in the southeastern U.S. and I was introduced to this forum because my wife found it while trying to buy concert tickets for me.

Welcome, Margarita! You are absolutely delightful and your English is fantastic! :D

Hope you enjoy it here, AlBback! Is your wife a fan, too? If not really, I hope she goes to a show with you. She just might become a huge fan! :)
