Many amazing classic rock bands still tour with their original members, how is it at all dead? I always go for the classics anyways, without the classics, there wouldn't be any way to even know these bands existed so people don't usually think too much about how great the newer material is when going to see one of them, they just think yeah Im sure they'll play lots of classics and some newer stuff.

In the late 90s, alternative rock music was getting a lot of recognition. Bad Hair Day and Running with Scissors reflect that.

But it's ridiculous to say rock is dead just because rap and pop music got more recognition in the 2000s. Lots of important rock bands were around, and will still continue to be around. Rock never went away. No genre does. Well... except maybe disco.

Rock may not be dead, but I rarely hear it nowadays, so it was a fair assumption to make. As for what's popular nowadays, I thought pop wasn't its own genre. Acts like Michael Jackson and Madonna obviously didn't sound the same as acts today, and they were very well considered pop in their time. What do you call the music that's apparently abundant today, like Lady Gaga and Big Time Rush? There's not a name for them that I can find, and I still consider rap to be an alive genre. Since no one here agrees with me, I'll end my hopeless ranting and get back on topic.

When will we expect this album to be released? 2013 or 2014?

But I thought pop meant popular music.

I only hear Big Time Rush on Nick while watching Big Time Rush, I wouldn't call it abundant. And yes pop is short for popular, but it still is it's own genre. It even has it's own sub-genre known as bubblegum pop

THIS

Every genre has its own sub gengres as well

ROCK: Rock, Hard Rock, Mainstream Rock, Classic Rock, Rock N' Roll etc.

ALTERNATIVE: Alternative, Garage, Crossover Pop, Emo and Goth

METAL: Heavy Metal, Thrash, Grindcore, Metalcore, Hardcore, Black, Death, Grunge and Punk

Pop: Top 40, Pop Rock, Pop Punk, Bubblegum, Adult Contemporary, Country, Electronica, Dance etc.

Rap: Hardcore Rap, Gangsta Rap, White Rap, R & B, Soul, Slow Jamz etc.

It really isn't that hard to pick out which of these four genres something belongs to because of all the sub genres

I don't agree that Punk is a subgenre of metal. I'd classify it more as a subgenre of rock.

Also R&B is in no way a subgenre of rap. It's a branch of jazz and blues with almost nothing to do with rap, other than the fact that rappers and R&B singers often collaborate.

Oh wow I didn't even see that. For that matter, "White Rap" is hardly a subgenre of rap haha...
