Yes, a strength that has resulted in three of American cinemas most beloved films having crappy CGI plastered all over them, and the only way we can see these films in their original, unchanged form is by watching crappy, non-anamorphic LaserDisc rips.
Unless we own the actual LaserDiscs, then we just watch those. (Yes I even have the Phantom Menace LaserDisc import which George had edited again by the time it made it to American DVD, not that anyone cares about this movie)

In all seriousness, if Al shot The Saga Begins music video with film, it could be scanned into HD and look pretty great on this box set. (lossless audio too anyone?) It's the only thing that could make me upgrade from my precious 1995 Special Edition LaserDiscs (and 1999 Phantom Menace import.)

Edit: That or George remastering the actual Trilogy...

That's a really cool bonus. I'm really tempted to get these blue rays, even though 1) I don't have a blue-ray player 2) I have all the DVDs and 3) I don't want to spend a boat-load of cash.

But isn't that what the post-production stage is for?
Yes, but he was doing post post production. I forget what the number was, but I wanna say it was re edited 7 or 8 times in it's original release. There were places you could see the movie then go 2 blocks over and see an entirely different cut

I don't have one of those either. Just a plain ol' DVD player.

He's saying that one of a movie collector's dream is to see as many different cuttings of a film as possible. Makes sense to me.

He didn't make that fact clear. He just said "the movie collector's dream".

Yeah, that's what I meant. Thanks, Moby.
