One thing I've always wondered about this song is how old Larry was. I've always imagined him to be a teenager, around 16 or 17. IRL is a good, funny song. It's twisted, but I've always liked it. The one thing I always felt like I would change is have another verse in it (before what's the final one). The lyrics don't seem to go on for that long and I think Al could have put some more gags in the song.

I never saw him as a teenager. He was a neighbor, and there was no mention of his parents, so I always figured he was middle age or something.

The thing that made me imagine that he was a teenager was that Al refers to him as a "kid" in the last line of the first verse. But I guess Al could just be referring to him as a kid there to say how childish he is. Either way is possible.

I really like this song! It's always been one of my favorite originals. I especially like the part of taking Larry into the middle of the forest. I always thought of him as a teenager, but I suppose he could be older. It's probably another one of those "whatever you want it to be" deals.
Oh by the way, I've cracked the code.

I really like this song too. But then, I guess I've always kind of liked songs that flirt with violence, yet allow the singer and listener to remain nonviolent. (It's ok to talk about it, not ok to do it).

On a side note, my grandpa came home from fishing yesterday with a good size bass. My brother saw it and for some reason known only to him, named it Larry. I'm about 90% positive my brother has never heard the song. After my grandpa cleaned the fish, I started singing "I'll never forget about Larry, no matter how I try..." :D

If you have a sound recording/editing program such as Audacity or Adobe Audition, and you don't have file protection on your file for the song, you can import it into there and reverse the file in effects.
