Now I didn’t get into Al until a few years after this came out, but for those who got it at release, outside of Nirvana, how was it received? I know the story is that the bulk of this album was recorded a full two years before it was released, but it feels to me like a lot of the material on here like a Milli Vanilli parody, an MC Hammer parody, a NKOTB parody, probably would have felt super dated by April of ‘92 as all of those acts were long past flash in the pan status by that point, same goes for Vanilla Ice who anchors the end of the parody. Was there a feeling that the album probably would have been a lot better if it came out in the Fall of 1990 like it was supposed to instead of when it did? Has Al ever talked about this being a concern?

End of the polka, not end of the parody, d’oh!

Ps. Since when can’t posts be edited anymore?
