I really like this song, and I also like to give "when I was your age" comments to people, regardless of whether I'm older or even know the age of the person/ people I'm making such comments to.

I can't believe that this song hasn't had it's own topic until a few weeks ago. I also can't believe that I haven't posted in this thread until now.

However, I don't ever remember being told "when I was your age" or "back in my days"-type stories. I was deprived. :(

Sadly I dont own this ALbum yet, but I have heard it over youtube...

Has anybody else noticed that this is very similar to a Shell Silverstine poem... Al sayes he was influenced by him, so I wonder if it was an omage... Than again, I'm sure there have been quite afew different takes on this topic...
Oh snap!

What does everyone think of this song? I think it is funny how Al takes everything that older people talk about it and puts it together like so.

That's because a mod merged the newer topic with the original.

Is it just an assumption that this song is a style parody of Don Henley ("Dirty Laundry"), or has this ever been admitted by Al?

I don't ever even see any snails or slugs anywhere anymore. Would it be wrong to go to the pet store and buy some just to perform this act?

(Go ahead and quote that!)
