Well, Al is less offensive than some of the stuff some ministers, preachers, and priests isten to nowadays.

Well, this particular pastor has a pretty good sense of humor, and his wife's from Minnesota. AND they go on long driving vacations in a van with kids. Maybe I'll corner him one of these days and play him Al's song.

Is the van covered in decals from places they've already been?

I don't know, but if it isn't, I could suggest they start collecting... :D

 But maybe not to the point where the kids can't see out the window, or the driver out the back.

Maybe they had a periscope to see out of the car.

Ah yes, the good old twine ball...

This is the song that got me hooked. My 5th and 6th grade teacher (Mr. A.) brought in an Al CD one day. We listened to TSB during our "snack break". I loved it (it probably helped that I'm a big Star Wars fan). I stayed after school that day and asked if I could hear another song. Mr. A. played TBBoTiM. I laughed so hard, I cried. After that, I basically started looking for Al CDs everywhere I went.

Living in Minnesota, I knew I had to visit this glorious, huge, majestic sphere. So I did. My mom really liked this song and always joked about going to see it. So on one of our family trips, we were near Darwin so we decided to go. I tried to make a music video thing out of it, but it didn't really work. Unfortunately, the Twine Ball Inn had gone out of business and the gift shop was closed. I still got a cup holder and a miniature ball of twine from a gas station though. I checked for Al's signature in the guestbook (didn't find it). Anyway, it was a fun trip. We listened to the song over and over and over all the way there...

The Biggest Ball of Twine always has been one of my favorite Al songs. I guess I just like the "happy" feel to it. Not to mention how funny it is.
