Wow this is an amazing find! That's the first time I've ever heard clips of House of the Sesame Seed Bun or Hey Food. He also revealed the thought process behind doing food parodies. Have we heard of Jon Iverson before? I thought Al was mostly playing shows with Joel Miller and Joe Earley in this time period. Now that I know high quality recordings of those shows exist, I want to hear it even more! Someone should get in touch with this Iverson guy. :detective:

By the way, the first few shots with the record collection behind him is shot in the current KCPR studios. It's moved to a different room in the building since the 70s, but they do have a complete Weird Al LP collection up to and including UHF, all autographed, in that collection. They also had a framed portrait of Al DJing inside the studio.
I couldn't tell a dirt clod from a plate of caviar.

It would be really funny if this guy wasn't even Al's college roommate ever and just some guy who got a hold of these songs and made up a story to go with it :foil:

This is great! I need to hear more!
4 words that Al said to me that blew me away:

"How's Problem Child doing?" - 7/12/11

So awesome!

Jon Iverson was featured in some early Al recordings, if you go on the Demented Music Database you can find some featuring him. The guitar in the guitar version of Mr Frump is performed by him. You can hear it by purchasing the show from the Doctor himself.

This video basically confirms that recordings of "Born To Be Mild," "House Of The Sesame Seed Bun," and "Hey Food" all exist.

Anyway to contact this guy? Having these recording would be amazing.
