A recording of Miniature Golf surfaced recently, but Al didn't write it, he's just a guest singer on one verse of the track (which is pretty crummy.)

More Songs About Food [Bathroom Recording Late 1979]

This week in the Dr Demento Archives the show from 11/18/79 was posted. You can stream it on the Official website. This show has the bathroom recording of "More Songs About Food" recorded in late 1979 along with My Balogna & School Cafeteria. I believe this was the only time it was broadcast on the radio (the 4 hour KMET show), and has never been played on the syndicated show.

Another rare track has been made available. DOC members can stream the show in 128 kbps quality. Non member can only listen in 32 kbps mp3 quality. I believe this is third and last song that was recorded in the infamous College Bathroom. It's worth a listen. :)

You can find it here:

Good evening D.O.C. Jocks (and Jockettes),

This weekend we have a new show where the Doc takes you to his farm to meet all the animals. That's coming your way just after midnight. We also have a new archive posting from 30 years ago, as requested by D.O.C. member Michael. It is available now. As this was a 4 hour live show on KMET, it is available in two parts:

1979-11-18 DDS79l.1118a KMET LIVE: Slide Trombona, Hot Nuts, Marry an Ugly Woman, 50's fashion montage, copycat corner (includes original commercials)

1979-11-18 DDS79l.1118b KMET LIVE: Esau Buck, More Songs about Food, 2000 Year Old man, jazz corner, top ten w/ Mr. Bill (includes original commercials)

We have more new and archive shows planned for the coming weeks and months, so as always, stay tuned, and stay demented!

Any chance of getting one of the episodes where the "Dr. D Superstar" snippet aired?

I really like "More Songs About Food"... it's much better than the usual Dr. Demento performance. This time, Al plays it at about half the speed - "Fatter" is comprehensible! :-)
